July 4th Weekend

And what a weekend it was! we had a bouncey castle. (Which i think Rhys liked most out of anyone we had fun with our friends and neighbors, we had daddy in Kilts! and we had rain, lots of rain, and some nice large hail too! but despite the downpours, it was a great holiday!

Last week, mommy and Miles were out of town so it was Rhys and Daddy to go and create their brand of mayhem.  We decided to go go the zoo, because it’s always a fun day out in the summertime.  Here’s a quick gallery of our day out:

Miles Bike all decorated for the local july 4th parade!

There is just nothing better than when your kid learns to ride a bike without training wheels. And today was the perfect example of that. In 85 degree, sweltering sunshine, me and Miles went for a bike ride that was better than perfect! We rode all the way from the house, down through the Town center, stopping for a while to watch the prarie dogs, of course, then went over to Civic Green park to play frisbee in the fountains and chill for a while.

After the park, it was time to go for lunch to Miles new favorite lunch place – SUBWAY! yum! That just about gave us enough strength to ride all the way home, and even pull in a little off road action on the gravel trail! Miles thought he was awesome because he skidded round the corner on the gravel. “Dude, did you see that” was his exact words to me. there’s nothing more pleasing that when your son calls you a “dude” if you ask me!

Here’s a couple more pictures from todays most excellent father-son bonding bike ride. Please harrass the wife into getting her bike fixed so she can enjoy the fun day i had on bikes with Miles!!!!

two weeks in…

…And both Daddy and Miles’s sanity are holding up quote nicely thankyou. We’ve been busy learnoing how to ride our new Razor scooter, cleaning the house, running to target to buy a new toaster (exciting huh?), soccer 2 days a week, playing with friends when they’re not at school and having lunches outside!
